Brad Settlage, Zoning Inspector for American Township, is a lifelong resident of the state of Ohio. Brad is a graduate of Elida High School, and Rhodes State College, with an Associate Degree, majoring in Public Service. Brad also holds a Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice from Tiffin University. Brad has a Correctional background and worked as an Officer at both Dayton and Allen County Correctional Institutions. Currently Brad is working toward his Law Enforcement Certification.
Brad has a daughter Courtney; they enjoy camping, boating, fishing and golfing. Brad is also an active member of both the YMCA and Moose Association. |

Enforce the Provisions of Resolution and Interpret the Meaning and Application of Its Provisions
Respond to Questions Concerning Applications For Amendments to the Zoning Resolution Text and the Official Zoning District Map
Issue Zoning Permits and Certificates Of Occupancy as Provided by Resolution(s)
Keep a Record Notations of Any Special Conditions Involved;
Act on All Applications Upon Which the Inspector is Authorized to Act by the Provisions of this Resolution Within the Specified Time or Notify the Applicant in Writing of the Inspector’s Refusal or Disapproval of such Application the Reasons Therefore.
Conduct Inspections of Buildings and Uses of Land to Determine Compliance With Resolution(s) and, in Case of Any Violation, to Notify in Writing the Person(s) Responsible, Specifying the Nature of the Violation and Ordering Corrective Action
Maintain in Current Status the Official Zoning District Map Which Shall Be Kept on Permanent Display in the Township Offices
Maintain Permanent and Current Records Required by Resolution(s), Including Zoning Permits, Occupancy Permits, Zoning Certificates, Inspection Documents, and Records of All Variances, Amendments and Special Uses
Make Records Available for the Use of the Township Trustees, the Zoning Commission, the Board of Zoning Appeals, and the Public
Review and Approve Site Plans Pursuant to this Resolution
Determine the Existence of any Violations of this Resolution and Cause Such Notifications, Revocation Notices, Stop Orders, or Tickets to be Issued, or Initiate Such Other Administrative or Legal Action as Needed to Address Such Violations
Prepare and Submit Reports to the Township Trustees and Zoning Commission on the Administration of Resolution(s) Setting Forth Information to Advance and Further the Purpose of Resolution(s). Such Reports Shall Include Recommendations Concerning the Schedule of Fees |
